Political Science 1100
“The art of those who govern consists above all in the science of employing words.”
― Gustave Le Bon
The Outcome
This semester I signed up for Political Science 1100 mainly for the general credit and because I wanted to learn the basics Our government system. We’re all American and have freedom but I wanted to learn what the meant. We vote for presidents, congressmen, policies, bills, laws; I wanted to understand what these things actually were. I feel as if I come from a generation that lacks a full understanding of our government. I told myself, before the next election came up I would educated myself not only on political issues but the entire system. I didn’t understand how the government worked but I want to vote with my opinion not my parents.
During this class I really had to use my book and other resourceful resources to understand terms, meanings, court cases, etc. I definitely had to use outside resources for the two research papers that were required for this course. The current English course I am in is, English 2250 which is a creative writing class. English is my major so writing is a pleasure. The two research paper topics for this class were, Second Amendment as it has been treated by the Supreme Court over time and Should the current Electoral College method of choosing the President and Vice President be retained, modified, or replaced altogether? The most important thing I learned from English 1010 about writing research papers is, if you have the option to pick a topic, pick one that you are not familiar with because you have to rely on self-knowledge. You have to do the research and educate yourself as well as the audience. Both of the research paper for this class I had to self-educate but because of previous English classes I was able to cite and footnote very easily. I was very pleased with the outcome of both of the research papers I wrote for this class and even more pleased of my grade. Not only did I write two great papers I learned about Politics!I’ll never be a politician and give great respect to those whom are.
